🛡️🛡️ Secured lone work in 340,000 cubic meters.
Protecting people, not robots - from technology to the last mile
The new Oberbuchsiten Service Center (DCO) of Meier Tobler AG has been open since autumn 2023. Around 75 employees work here in the field of logistics - supported by state-of-the-art technology.
13 automated mobile robots (AMR) perform monotonous routine tasks. In the Autostore, the ultra-modern small parts warehouse, a further 35 mini robots ensure that small parts are stored precisely and located quickly. And in the fully automated high-bay warehouse, five gigantic, 30-metre-high storage and retrieval machines whizz through the aisles to transport large items such as heat pumps or boilers.
But that's not all: 45 employees from administration, service and product management have also found their modern workplaces in the DCO.
High-tech and smart security in a new dimension
The DCO has an impressive total volume of 340,000 cubic meters - the equivalent of around 350 detached houses. However, the size of the site presents challenges: employees in the technical department often work alone, out of sight and out of earshot of their colleagues. The "last mile" - the area between the automated warehouse and the loading of the trucks - is also characterized by individual work.
This is where the Uepaa Safety App comes into play:
🛡️ Dead man's function (according to Suva-44094)
🚑 1st Responder (companion assistance alarm)
📱 Bring Your Own Device (Android & iOS)
🇨🇭 A SWISS LABEL product (100% CH quality)
The app guarantees maximum security for all employees - regardless of whether they work in the technical area, on the last mile or elsewhere.
Safely into the future
By implementing the Uepaa Safety App, Meier Tobler is sending a clear signal for the protection and safety of its employees. We would like to thank everyone at the DCO for the trust they have placed in us and wish them a safe start with the new technology.
