The new Gotthard Base Tunnel of the NRLA went into operation in the fall of 2016. The warm and clean mountain water of 150 to 400 liters per second that seeps into the tunnel tubes can be collected and used sustainably - as a natural resource for the sustainable fish farming of more than 600 tons of edible fish per year.
Mr. and Mrs. Swiss eat almost 80,000 tons of fish and shellfish per year - the quality, sustainability and origin of food is becoming increasingly important to consumers!
