🧯🧯Why does the municipality of Appenzell use the Uepaa app?
...so that network electricians, fountain masters and equipment attendants get home safely every day.
Energie- und Wasserversorgung Appenzell (EWA) creates, operates and maintains grid systems at grid levels 5 to 7. EWA's distribution grid comprises 105 kilometers of medium-voltage lines and 482 kilometers of low-voltage lines as well as 116 transformer stations and 343 cable distribution cabins.
It also creates, operates and maintains its own drinking water supply. EWA's supply includes a spring water catchment, a groundwater pumping station and three reservoirs.
So whether it's the network electricians, well supervisors or equipment attendants in the fire department depot, or whether it's electricity metering or water analysis, the team around operations manager Patrick Haltmann is always on the job. Working alone cannot be avoided. In order to better comply with the legal requirements for lone working, the Uepaa app has been in use since this month. The standstill detection system calls for help if the employee is no longer able to do so themselves. In areas without reception, such as water catchments, transformer stations and distribution cabins, the one-off check provides additional protection.
